NEHA to Host FDA Food Code Course for Industry Professionals in September

In September, the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) is offering a virtual, three-day training course to provide retail food/foodservice industry professionals with practical tools for interpreting and applying the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) 2022 Food Code and its 2024 Supplement.
“Navigating the FDA Food Code: A Course for Industry Professionals,” held live on September 9–11 from 9:00 A.M.–5:00 P.M. ET, is designed to help participants:
- Identify the intent, design, and scope of the Food Code
- Understand the definition and criteria of “approved” food
- Explain requirements for water, plumbing, waste disposal, and recycling in a food establishment
- Recognize Good Retail Practices (GRPs) that support sanitary operations
The course also highlights management responsibilities; employee health; compliance and enforcement measures related to food, equipment, plumbing, waste, and physical facilities; and other key areas of food safety.
Participants will learn through expert-led lectures, group exercises, and guided discussion.
