University of Arkansas Extension to Host Sanitation and Listeria Prevention Workshop for Food Industry

The University of Arkansas (UA) Division of Agriculture Research and Extension will host a three-day, in-person Sanitation and Listeria Prevention workshop in August. The deadline to register is August 8, 2025.
The Sanitation and Listeria Prevention Workshop is intended for food safety, sanitation, and operations managers of facilities producing either RTE (ready-to-eat) or non-RTE food, and which are inspected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or state agencies. Training certificates will be provided upon completion of the workshop.
The event will be held from August 12–14 at the UA Little Rock Cooperative Extension State Office in Little Rock, Arkansas. Workshop leaders from UA Cooperative Extension, Fortrex, Vincit Group, ChemStation, and HACCP Consulting Group will be represented.
Topics to be covered during the workshop include USDA and FDA sanitation regulations, sanitation safety and basics, pest control, allergen controls, equipment hygienic design, verification and validation of sanitation programs, adverse events, and seek-and-destroy, among others. Standard registration is $250. Student and University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture staff registration is $50.
