After Fruit Logistica 2025, Marzio Cazzamali, Global Industry Segment Manager for Fruit and Vegetables at Ammeraal Beltech, shared his reflections on the event, focusing on innovations in food-safe conveyor solutions.

Held from February 5–7 in Berlin, Germany, the event provided industry professionals with the chance to explore cutting-edge technologies and engage with Marzio to discuss solutions that enhance food safety in the fruit and vegetable processing sector.

Marzio Cazzamali

Why was Fruit Logistica an essential event for the industry?

MC: Fruit Logistica has consistently been a platform where innovation and practical solutions converge. For the fruit and vegetable sector, it is an invaluable opportunity to discover technologies that improve productivity, maintain high hygiene standards, and ensure safe food handling. At Booth A41, we showcased products designed to address these critical needs and improve operational efficiency.

What did visitors experience at Ammeraal Beltech's booth?

MC: At our booth, we introduced a range of food-grade conveyor products designed to meet the stringent hygiene and performance demands of the fruit and vegetable industry. Here are some of the standout solutions we presented:

  • Ultrascreen PRO: Our flagship positive-drive mesh belts are built for self-tracking, reduced slippage, and increased durability, ensuring smoother and more reliable operations, and providing excellent hygienic qualities.
  • Ultrascreen XMD: With food safety at the forefront, the Ultrascreen XMD is designed to protect against foreign body contamination. Equipped with X-ray and metal-detectable edges, guide ropes, and cleats, this product enhances safety and minimizes contamination risks.
  • AMMdrive: This positive-drive belt range excels in performance, reducing traction forces, and cutting operating costs. Its easy "plug-and-play" installation minimizes downtime, maintaining operational efficiency while reducing maintenance expenses. AMMdrive serves as an ideal retrofit on friction-driven conveyor systems.
  • uni SNB M2 20% Open Nub Top: Tailored for fresh-cut and leafy vegetables, this modular belt prevents sticking and adhesion of wet products, improving the efficiency of washing, dewatering, cooling, and mixing processes.
  • AMMcare: A comprehensive solution that provides instant access to essential belt data, including datasheets, certificates, quick quotes, and order requests—all at the touch of a button.

What challenges do these products address?

MC: The main challenges faced by the fruit and vegetable processing industry include maintaining stringent hygiene standards, improving equipment performance, and reducing food waste. Seasonal production pressures demand durable and reliable equipment. Our solutions are designed to meet these needs, ensuring higher productivity and safer food handling for all involved.

What message did you share with professionals at Booth A41?

MC: We had many insightful conversations with visitors, discussing their operational challenges and offering solutions tailored to their needs. Whether it was optimizing processes or exploring new possibilities, our products are crafted to meet the specific demands of the fruit and vegetable industry.

What key takeaway did you have from this year's Fruit Logistica?

MC: For me, the most rewarding part was the conversations. Engaging with industry professionals and discussing ways to improve food safety and operational efficiency was invaluable. It is events like these that inspire new ideas and strengthen industry connections.
