MBM Innovations Unveils New VSM® BULKY Vertical Vacuum Packaging Machine

MBM Innovations has announced its new VSM® BULKY vertical packaging machine, ideal for transport and maturing packaging for foods, pouch packaging for natural casings in brine, and loose packs.

VSM® BULKY utilizes the VSM® vacuum system—an atmospheric vacuum system that provides a structurally gentle yet high-quality vacuum, and offers advantages in terms of product quality, vacuum safety, handling, and resource efficiency. These benefits are due to air being evacuated directly from the bag using special suction nozzles; the entire evacuation process takes place under normal atmospheric pressure without a vacuum chamber. The extra-wide vacuum station with impulse sealing on both sides ensures reliable, crease-free sealing, even in large formats and with moist bags.

Hygienically designed, VSM® BULKY packs a wide variety of products efficiently, safely, and sustainably in a vacuum or modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), sending products directly into transport boxes, E2 crates, drums, or cartons. Typical areas of application include transport and maturing packaging of meat and sausage products, ham, fish and seafood, and cheese intended for bulk consumers and the catering sector; pouch packaging for natural casings in brine; and loose packs such as soya granules, animal feed, nuts, and dried fruit.

Thanks to its space-saving, slim design, VSM® BULKY can be used in almost any working environment and, thanks to its castors, can be easily moved. Additionally, the machine supports high hygiene and safety standards, and facilitates simple, uncomplicated operation and maintenance.

Moreover, MBM systems offer energy-saving potential; for example, with the fully automatic systems for mature cheese packaging, 36–50 percent of energy can be saved in the vacuum system alone, when compared to alternative packaging systems with the same output. All MBM models can also easily process recyclable mono-materials that are suitable for the circular economy, and are characterized by low compressed air consumption and intelligent standby times.
