The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will hold an educational webinar for regulators and industry—especially the foodservice/food retail industry—about food labeling and allergen labeling requirements on December 18, 2024.

FDA’s food labeling and food allergen labeling requirements apply to all packaged foods regulated by FDA, including foods packaged by retail food stores and by foodservice establishments. To assist industry with these requirements, FDA has issued several guidance documents including Questions and Answers Regarding Food Allergen Labeling and the Major Food Allergen Labeling and Cross-Contact Draft Compliance Policy Guide

Labeling errors associated with undeclared allergens are one of the leading causes of food recalls in the U.S. Therefore, FDA is reminding industry, including retail food stores and foodservice establishments, of its food allergen labeling requirements. The webinar is intended to help industry better understand and comply with regulations.

The webinar will be held from 2:00–2:45 P.M. ET and will feature a number of technical and regulatory experts. Registration is required.
