MycoTechnology, Adorvia Partner on Reduced-Sugar Ingredient Solutions

MycoTechnology and Adorvia Biotechnology have announced a global commercial collaboration aimed at helping food and beverage manufacturers develop reduced-sugar products.
The partnership combines MycoTechnology's Zukora Honey Truffle Sweet Protein with Adorvia's proprietary Reb M stevia to support the development of natural sweetener systems for lower-sugar, low-calorie, and no-calorie food and beverage formulations.
According to the companies, Zukora Honey Truffle Sweet Protein provides sweetness without bitterness, metallic notes, or lingering aftertaste, while Adorvia's Reb M stevia delivers rapid sweet onset and high sweetness intensity. The companies said the ingredient combination is intended to more closely replicate the taste profile and sweetness curve of sugar while addressing formulation challenges associated with high-intensity sweeteners.
As part of the collaboration, MycoTechnology and Adorvia said they will combine their scientific and formulation expertise to optimize sweetener blends for food and beverage manufacturers. The companies also plan to conduct joint commercial activities in North America under a collaboration agreement.
Additionally, MycoTechnology appointed Adorvia Biotechnology as its exclusive distributor in China for ClearIQ Natural Flavor, a flavor modifier produced through mushroom mycelial fermentation. According to MycoTechnology, ClearIQ is designed to improve the taste of reduced-sugar and other better-for-you food and beverage products.
