SGS and Campden BRI Announce New Partnership in Food Training

SGS--an inspection, verification, testing and certification company--along with Campden BRI--a global provider of food training, research and technical services--have joined forces and formed a partnership to provide specialist food training services to a wider international audience.

SGS through its worldwide SGS Academy draws on years of experience and technical knowledge to provide effective learning and development opportunities. The provision of food training is a strong focus within this broader portfolio. The partnership with Campden BRI offers the opportunity to complement SGS's existing food quality and safety management training with a wider range of specialist training courses across a large range of areas including raw materials, food technology, food processing, microbiology, food legislation and consumer and sensory science.

The new partnership comes in light of a recent global industry survey conducted jointly by Campden BRI and SGS along with several other partners, where among the many needs identified was a significant concern about the emerging ‘skills shortage’ in the industry.

Naghmeh Raiyat, global business manager of food at SGS says, “SGS’s food and training expertise, local knowledge and truly global network, combined with Campden BRI’s established reputation as a strong provider of food technical training solutions, offers both companies a unique opportunity to support the food industry worldwide. A new set of services will be introduced featuring a wide range of high quality interactive training covering technical and topical areas, delivered where needed, and in the language required.”

Bertrand Emond, head of membership and training at Campden BRI says, “We are delighted to be working with SGS. We are very excited about the opportunity to bring our technical and scientific knowledge together with SGS’s unique and thorough understanding of each market to develop new courses.”
