U.S. Codex Office to Hold Public Meeting Ahead of CCFL49

On April 23, 2026 from 1:00–3:00 P.M. ET, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Codex Office (USDA-USCO) will host a public meeting ahead of the 49th Session of the Codex Committee on Food Labeling (CCFL49), which will be held in Ottawa, Canada on May 11–15.
The objective of the virtual public meeting is to provide information and receive public comments on agenda items and draft U.S. positions to be discussed at CCFL49.
On the agenda for CCFL49 are discussions around precautionary allergen labeling (PAL), emergency food labeling provisions, and “country of harvest” label declarations for spices.
The U.S. Delegate to the 49th Session of the CCFL invites interested U.S. parties to submit comments ahead of time and register for the event, here.
