New AK Series 3 Quick-Ship Commercial Walk-In From Amerikooler

The AK Series 3 Quick-Ship Walk-In from Amerikooler is a new walk-in cooler and freezer solution designed for foodservice businesses. With nine standardized size options and four standard height configurations, with or without floor, selection is simplified and compatibility with most spaces is assured for any foodservice operation, from small cafes to large institutional kitchens, indoor or outdoor.

Built with 4-inch thick AK-XPS insulation, the AK Series 3 achieves R-29 for coolers and R-32 for freezers, delivering superior energy efficiency and temperature retention. This helps maintain food safety standards, reduces spoilage, and lowers utility costs in busy kitchens.

The interior and exterior panels are constructed from Acrylume, corrosion-resistant, stucco-embossed Galvalume, guaranteeing long-lasting durability and robust protection against rust and corrosion even with frequent cleaning in the humid, demanding environment of commercial kitchens.

For safety and sanitation, the standard foot-traffic-rated smooth stainless steel floor finish on Quick Ship models is designed to withstand up to 600 pounds (lbs.) per square foot of uniformly distributed load—ideal for heavy foot traffic from staff and rolling carts while maintaining clean and sanitary conditions that meet food safety requirements. In applications where a floor is not required, floorless walk-ins are supplied with NSF-approved vinyl screed, supporting safe food storage and easy cleaning in kitchens where a floorless design is preferred. Depending on the foodservice application and manufacturer recommendations, floors can be upgraded to Ultimate Reinforced, rated to handle up to 2,700 lbs. per square foot of uniformly distributed load.

The AK Series 3 offers flexible access options with a choice of single 30-inch (in.) wide or 36 in. wide, 76-in. high flush-mounted doors, centered on any side to accommodate various kitchen layouts and workflows, improving efficiency and accessibility for staff. Each unit features two Performer lift-off adjustable super cam-rise spring assisted hinges for effortless door operation and reliable, long-lasting performance, even with frequent use during peak meal prep times. The Safeguard deadbolt keyed handle latch with padlock capability enhances security for valuable food inventory after hours, reducing the risk of theft or tampering, while the interior safety lock releaser handle ensures staff safety by allowing quick exit from inside at any time, meeting U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and foodservice safety protocols.

To maintain energy efficiency and temperature control, the spring-actuated door closer keeps the door securely shut, supporting food quality and safety compliance. A digital LED thermometer with an on/off pilot light switch allows for easy, accurate temperature monitoring and control. The vapor-proof LED light fixture, centered on the interior door jamb, delivers bright, energy-efficient illumination for clear visibility during inventory checks and cleaning. For freezer applications, doors are equipped with a pre-wired pressure relief vent and heated relief vent to prevent pressure build-up and ensure reliable operation, reducing maintenance interruptions in high-volume foodservice environments.

The AK Series 3 is available with both self-contained and remote refrigeration systems, supporting indoor and outdoor installations to fit unique kitchen footprints. Outdoor units include rain roof membranes, exterior floor angles, and door hoods provide extra weather protection, safeguarding food inventory in all conditions.
