UK FSA Endorses Qualification Course for Animal Feed Regulators
The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has endorsed the Chartered Trading Standards Institute’s (CTSI’s) Professional Competency in Feed qualification route. The course covers the legal requirements of animal feed at all stages, including primary production, manufacturing, and distribution, as well as the framework for official UK control regulations governing animal health and public health.
Endorsement of the new vocational qualification route is predicted to boost the numbers of trained officers available to carry out official feed controls.
The 6-month course includes a mix of online teaching, training days, and assessment days. The qualification is available to candidates across England, Scotland, and Wales.
