World Food Safety Day (WFSD) is celebrated on June 7 every year to encourage producers, consumers, and governments to acknowledge the mutual responsibility of food safety. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) designated the first WFSD in 2018, with the aim of increasing awareness about food safety and minimizing health concerns and risks posed by foodborne illnesses.

In recognition of World Food Safety Day 2023, the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) will provide open access from June 1–30 to all recorded webinars in the IAFP archives for non-members. This opportunity will allow non-members to benefit for 30 days from IAFP’s informative and educational webinars led by experts in their respective fields. IAFP non-members can browse the webinar archives on the IAFP website at any time, where more than 100 webinars dating back to 2009 are located.

“Food Standards Save Lives” will be the theme for the fifth annual World Food Safety Day, taking place June 7, 2023. Follow Food Safety Magazine’s World Food Safety Day coverage to stay up-to-date with resources and events.
