Strategies for Reinforcing Food Safety Culture Among Temporary and Seasonal Staff

KEYWORDS: education / food safety culture / recalls / training
1/27/26 2:00 pm to 1/27/27 EST
Contact: Vania Halabou

Temporary and seasonal employees can be a cost-effective staffing resource for a food manufacturing facility during peak production times, staffing shortages, and as a workload management option; however, they can also bring some challenges. Temporary workers may feel a lack of investment in their performance or in team collaboration and integration, which can threaten the stability of workplace culture and the company's food safety culture.

In this webinar, speakers from industry and academia will review strategies for reinforcing food safety culture among temporary and seasonal workers to avoid food safety and quality issues with your product and prevent waste, downgrading, and recalls. Successful management of temporary workforce through better assessment of skills, more connected training and clear expectations, improved performance monitoring, and reinforcement of culture will position your company for success during times of workforce stress. By implementing these strategies, organizations can optimize the contributions of temporary employees to foster a positive work environment and culture and, ultimately, enhance overall productivity.

From this webinar, attendees will learn:

  • The benefits and challenges of employing temporary/seasonal workers in food processing
  • How to address the potential effects of temporary staff on workplace culture and food safety culture
  • How to successfully manage temporary staff and reinforce food safety culture to avoid food safety and quality issues, recalls, and waste
