Slipnot Introduces Sweepable, Slip-Resistant Flooring for Dry Food Processing Facilities

Slipnot has introduced Slipnot Sweep, a slip-resistant metal flooring product designed to support sanitation and worker safety in dry processing environments.

The patent-pending product is intended for medium- to low-hazard areas in dry food, baking, dairy powder, pharmaceutical, plastics, and wood processing facilities. Applications include processing areas, staircases, and walkways.

Sweep was developed to address challenges associated with cleaning traditional slip-resistant flooring in facilities where wet washdowns or power washing may be limited or restricted. Grooves, crevices, and raised features in some flooring surfaces can trap powders, organic dust, and other debris.

Slipnot Sweep is currently available as a stainless surface on a stainless steel substrate. The product is grit-free, which the company said eliminates particle shedding associated with some flooring coatings.

For food processing applications, the surface is designed to be fully seam-welded to minimize gaps that could serve as bacterial harborage sites. Slipnot pre-masks the perimeter edges before applying its surface treatment, allowing installers to perform full-seam welds without affecting the surrounding finish.

The flooring has been certified as high-traction by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI). Slipnot reported that in-house testing showed Sweep exceeded a wet dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF) of 0.88 and achieved a dry DCOF of 0.71.

The company also said the flooring was designed as a durable alternative to temporary anti-slip products such as tapes, paints, and grit coatings, which may require periodic reapplication and maintenance.

Additionally, according to Slipnot, the product can reduce sanitation time by 15–30 minutes per production line in high-volume facilities.
