Center for Produce Safety Releases Cyclospora Resources for Industry

The Center for Produce Safety (CPS) has published a new Cyclospora resource page amid the ongoing U.S. cyclosporiasis outbreak, which has sickened thousands across several Midwestern states.
The collection comprises scientific publications, literature reviews, guidance documents, and additional resources related to the control of Cyclospora cayetanensis. Topics covered include:
- The biology, transmission, and survival of C. cayetanensis
- The occurrence, distribution, and prediction of the parasite in agricultural environments
- Detection and laboratory methods for the recovery, detection, identification, and viability assessment of the parasite and its oocysts
- Agricultural water monitoring, surveillance, and treatment
- Mitigation strategies.
