NASEM Seeks Experts for Membership in Food Forum

The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) is seeking food safety and regulatory experts for membership in the Food Forum.
The Food Forum, established in 1993, convenes scientists, administrators, and policymakers from academia, government, industry, non-profits, professional societies, and consumer groups on an ongoing basis to explore issues related to food (including safety, regulation, systems, nutrition, and health) and identify approaches to address such issues.
NSAEM aims to fill approximately five open seats on the Food Forum for a total of 25 volunteer experts, and also to find potential speakers and participants for other forms of engagement. Particular areas of expertise NSAEM is interested in include:
- Food and agricultural economics
- Food, nutrition, and agriculture intersecting with human health
- Food systems and production
- Food safety
- Food marketing.
Suggestions for experts to be considered for NSAEM’s Food Forum can be submitted here on or before May 11, 2026.
