FAO to Host ‘AI Meets Food Safety’ Webinar

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is hosting a webinar on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing food safety management on October 14, 2025.
Part of the FAO Science and Innovation Forum, the session “AI Meets Food Safety” will address how AI can help detect food safety risks before they become crises. Bringing together speakers from different sectors and regions, the session will explore how digital innovations and technologies are transforming the food safety landscape. Speakers will look at AI’s applications in food safety management, from real-time surveillance to early detection of emerging issues, through foresight and supporting informed decision-making.
The session will highlight diverse experiences and insights on how AI is being used at national, regional, and international levels, while also addressing the importance of human oversight and ethical considerations in the use of this technology.
Those who are not in Rome, Italy to attend the Science and Innovation Forum or “AI Meets Food Safety” session in person are invited to participated online. The event will also be webcast on UN TV.
