June 30, 2025

Ravenwood Packaging has unveiled a new compact Vision Inspection System upgrade, offering high-performance label inspection in a simplified format. Designed to bolt seamlessly onto the Nobac 5000 outfeed belt—or most conveyor systems—the upgrade is ideal for manufacturers seeking robust inspection in limited production spaces.

This streamlined version of Ravenwood’s original Vision technology delivers automated end-of-line label inspection, identifying print defects, misaligned labels, and incorrect data such as barcodes and use-by dates. It features 4K image quality, precise fault detection, and operator-free automation.

Ravenwood has also implemented significant upgrades to the Vision Inspection System.

NEW Deep Learning OCR module for VR and VXR machines

This cutting-edge module brings advanced optical character recognition capabilities to VR and VXR platforms. Designed for ease of integration and maximum efficiency, it enables fast, accurate text recognition without the need for manual font configuration. Ideal for industrial and high-speed environments, the module enhances automation and traceability with minimal setup time.

Deep Learning OCR

  • Uses pre-learned character sets—no font teaching required
  • Simplifies setup via existing product screens
  • Includes an on-board flash label database
  • Offers high-precision image capture and processing
  • The module is available as an optional upgrade or integrated with new machine builds.

Quality Management – QUOR and Q-Lite

Also supporting Ravenwood’s commitment to smarter automation and compliance are two bolt-on quality management systems.

QUOR Quality Management System

  • A comprehensive tool for selecting products, storing quality data, and capturing inspection images—including rejected packs. QUOR generates retailer-compliant KPI reports at the click of a button and provides full traceability via secure, on/offsite access through PC software or the QUOR app.

NEW for 2025 – Q-Lite (QUOR but lighter)

  • A streamlined, report-only version of QUOR, Q-Lite delivers instant, real-time label compliance reports with minimal IT requirements. Reports are triggered automatically, accessible anytime via the cloud, and perfect for customers seeking a cost-effective, entry-level solution—with the option to upgrade.

For more information on the Compact Vision Inspection System, contact Ravenwood’s marketing team at +44(0)1284 749144.
