ISO Solicits Comments on ISO 22000 Global Food Safety Standard

FDA Issues Fourth Annual Reportable Food Registry

May 5, 2014
The FDA today made available the 4th Annual Reportable Food Registry (RFR) Report, which summarizes the Registry’s fourth year of operation (Sept. 8, 2012 – Sept. 7, 2013). The report found that the RFR logged in 1269 reports, underscoring RFR's importance in tracking patterns of food adulteration and helping to remove dangerous products from the marketplace.

FSIS, APHIS Agree to Partner on Foodborne Illness Investigations

Two agencies under the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) umbrella, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), announced May 2 that they have signed an agreement to . provide a more comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to address foodborne health hazards potentially associated with meat and poultry products.
