Mississippi has become the third U.S. state to ban cell-based food products with the passage of House Bill 1006. As of July 1, 2025, it will be illegal to sell or distribute any cultivated food product in the state.

Arizona Bill to Ban Some Food Additives, Dyes in School Meals Passes House

New York Bill Aims to Ban Certain Food Additives, Dyes; Create Transparency Around GRAS Ingredients

If enacted during the New York State budget process in March, the Food Safety and Chemical Disclosure Act would require food companies to disclose their use of any “Generally Recognized as Safe” (GRAS) ingredients, and would ban some additives and dyes from foods sold or made in New York or in its schools.
