The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released updates for three guidance documents for food producers covered by its regulations for Juice Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Seafood HACCP, and Low-Acid Canned Foods. The updates explain the connection between the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) regulations and pre-FSMA regulations.

In 2017, the FDA published these guidances to help producers of food commodities covered by pre-FSMA regulations comprehend which parts of the FSMA regulations apply to them and how the FSMA regulations may affect their operations. Updates to each guidance include deletion of the reference to compliance dates, as they have all passed, and new questions and answers about central kitchens and transportation caterers have been added to the guidances on Seafood HACCP and Juice HACCP.
