Synexis, Zee Company Partnership Expands Pathogen Control Technology for Food Processors

Synexis LLC and Zee Company have announced a strategic partnership to expand access to Synexis’ DHP technology for food and beverage processing facilities across the U.S.
According to the companies, the collaboration is intended to integrate Synexis’ continuous pathogen control technology with Zee Company’s existing food safety, sanitation, and intervention offerings.
Synexis’ DHP technology is designed to continuously reduce airborne and surface microorganisms in occupied spaces, supplementing existing sanitation and food safety programs.
As an example of the technology’s application, Synexis cited results reported by a U.S. ready-to-eat (RTE) protein facility that had experienced recurring seasonal yeast and mold issues. Following implementation of DHP technology, the customer reported a 95 percent reduction in mold and yeast swab test failures on non-food-contact surfaces, a 92 percent reduction on food-contact surfaces, and a 95 percent reduction in airborne mold and yeast test failures. The facility also reported a 69 percent reduction in customer complaints.
Zee Company provides food safety solutions including intervention chemistries, application systems, and technical support. Through its Pathogen Control Center, the company works with food manufacturers on pathogen control and food safety programs.
According to Synexis, its DHP technology is designed for continuous use in occupied spaces and leaves no chemical residues. The company also stated that the technology meets U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Organic requirements, and that its devices are UL 2998-certified for zero ozone emissions and California Air Resources Board (CARB)-certified.
The partnership will make Synexis’ DHP technology available through Zee Company as an additional intervention that food and beverage processors can incorporate alongside existing sanitation and pathogen control programs.
