Carrier Transicold Launches Reefer Fleet Upgrade Program

Carrier Transicold has launched Fleet Refresh, a program that enables refrigerated fleets to replace aging transport refrigeration units (TRUs) on existing trailers as an alternative to replacing entire trailers.
According to the company, the program is intended to help fleets extend the service life of refrigerated trailers while upgrading refrigeration equipment. Because Fleet Refresh replaces only the TRU, certain trailer-mounted components, including the fuel tank and light bar, are not required, which Carrier said may reduce acquisition costs compared to a standard new TRU installation.
Fleet Refresh is available for Carrier Transicold's single- and multi-temperature trailer TRUs, including the X4 7500, X4 7700, Vector 8500, Vector 8700, Vector 8600MT, and Vector 8800MT.
Carrier said the program includes Lynx Fleet telematics and BluEdge service coverage to provide visibility into refrigeration unit performance and support maintenance planning. According to the company, Fleet Refresh TRUs are Lynx Fleet-ready, allowing fleets with older refrigeration units to adopt the telematics platform.
Installation and removal of Fleet Refresh TRUs are performed through Carrier Transicold's dealer network.
Fleet Refresh is available through Carrier Transicold dealers in North America.
