Woody Food Strategies, founded by Jon Woody, CAPT, USPHS (Ret.), is offering live virtual trainings on the FSPCA Intentional Adulteration Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA) course, scheduled for August 6 and August 20, 2025.
Jon Woody brings over 27 years of experience in food safety, food defense, and emergency preparedness, including 24 years at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As a primary author of the FSMA Intentional Adulteration (IA) rule and lead FDA instructor for food defense investigators now conducting inspections, Woody provides unparalleled insight into regulatory expectations.
These courses use the FDA-recognized, standardized curriculum developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) and is one way to meet FDA’s requirement for a "Food Defense Qualified Individual" responsible for conducting vulnerability assessments under the IA rule.
"Now that FDA is conducting comprehensive food defense inspections in support of the IA rule, I’m excited to help industry professionals build compliant, actionable food defense plans," said Woody.
Each training includes an extended Q&A session for practical discussion, and attendees receive the official FSPCA certificate upon successful completion.
