Breaches of Food Safety Legislation Among Irish Businesses Increased by 19 Percent in 2023

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) issued 92 enforcement orders to businesses for breaches of food safety legislation in 2023, an increase of 19 percent from the 77 enforcement orders served in 2022.

High Levels of Toxic Plasticizers Phthalates, Bisphenols Found in Nearly All Foods in U.S.

Recent testing for phthalates and bisphenols like BPA in foods found all but one sample to contain phthalates and 79 percent of samples to contain bisphenols. Phthalates were present at worryingly high levels, although levels of bisphenols have decreased since 2009. The study was conducted by Consumer Reports.
