Packers Sanitation Services Inc. (PSSI) has announced an expanded offering to complement its core contract sanitation services. The Value-Added Services Program (VASP) assists meat, poultry and food processors with a variety of nonproduction jobs, saving costs and helping overcome staffing issues.

“This program helps simplify the complexities of facility operation and improve overall business efficiency,” says Roger Beers, vice president, sales and marketing, PSSI. “VASP allows our customers to focus on their core competencies of production.”

Nonproduction Tasks
With VASP, PSSI provides workers to carry out these and other tasks during production shifts:

  • Dry pick-up, including tracking pick-up weights so customers can identify potential sources of waste
  • Tub washing and utensil and cart cleaning
  • Trolley room operation and repair
  • Recycling
  • Janitorial and housekeeping services

VASP eliminates the challenges that companies often have filling these roles by utilizing the PSSI human resources platform to recruit, train and manage team members. The program aligns with PSSI’s trusted and proven sanitation services for plants regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
