CAVU Group announces acquisition of Latent Heat Solutions, LLC
October 13, 2020

CAVU Group, a leading provider of thermal management and temperature monitoring solutions, has announced the acquisition of Latent Heat Solutions, LLC (LHS). Under the agreement, CAVU will acquire LHS assets, resources, and customer contracts from CoorsTEK, Inc. and the merged business will operate as one of the CAVU Group brands. The acquisition further extends CAVU’s resources, capabilities, and reach into medical device, life science, electronic, consumer goods, industrial, and energy sectors.

Based in Golden, Colorado, LHS is a global provider of thermal management solutions for the commercial battery energy storage sector along with temperature stabilization of thermosensitive components and surfaces. The company’s technology prolongs battery life and ensures safety by preventing thermal runaway—a process of uncontrolled heating often resulting in the hazardous release of energy, venting gas, and fire.

LHS will continue operations from its current facility and focus on development and prototyping functions. To support the acquisition, CAVU will invest in growing the Colorado-based business and add automated manufacturing in its Dayton, Ohio headquarters.

LHS Chief Technology Officer, Mark Hartmann comments:

“LHS is excited to merge the advanced technologies and expand the production capabilities of both companies by continuing to strategically grow the thermal management and thermal measurement solutions for our current and future partners.  The exponential growth of the electrification industry across our partners - various medical, robotics, packaging, delivery, industrial and e-mobility businesses - has driven the need for enhanced, sustainable thermal solution portfolios to provide increased value and safety. This merger will increase the innovative materials, engineering and production capabilities allowing us to better serve and meet the demands of our global customers.”

CAVU Group President & CEO, Randall Lane comments:

“Through our American Thermal Instruments and Microtek Laboratories brands, CAVU Group has been delivering temperature monitoring and management solutions for over 35 years. This investment further demonstrates our commitment to growth and advancing technologies to optimize energy solutions, increase customer satisfaction, brand protection, and consumer safety.  While we are naturally excited to welcome Latent Heat Solutions to the CAVU family, the true beneficiaries are current and future customers who will see new levels of innovation and responsiveness.”
