WorkForge to Launch Training Platform for Food Manufacturing Workforce

WorkForge, a workforce training company focused on food manufacturing, has announced the planned launch of WorkForge Shift, a training platform designed to help food and beverage manufacturers assess frontline worker competency, document compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), and manage employee training.
Scheduled for market availability on February 1, 2027, WorkForge Shift will allow supervisors to observe employees performing tasks on the plant floor and digitally document their competency. The platform is intended to help manufacturers verify that workers can correctly perform procedures, rather than relying solely on training completion records.
A key feature of the platform, called Behavior Checks, will enable supervisors and employees to jointly sign records documenting successful on-the-job performance. These records cannot be modified after signing, providing documentation for food safety audits.
Additional features include a training content builder with translation capabilities in more than 20 languages, automated training assignments and renewals, and digital skills matrices that track employee qualifications. The platform will also allow manufacturers to update training when procedures change and identify employees requiring retraining.
According to WorkForge, the platform was developed in response to challenges associated with workforce turnover, inconsistent adherence to SOPs, and limitations in existing training systems.
The company cited findings from the ninth annual Global Food Safety Training Survey indicating that one in five facilities reported workers did not consistently follow SOPs, while only 11 percent expressed strong confidence in employee adherence to procedures.
WorkForge Shift will include more than 770 ready-to-use courses across 15 subject areas, including food safety, occupational health and safety, and maintenance. The platform is designed for use on desktops, laptops, tablets, and shared kiosks.
