Mettler Toledo to Open X-Ray Reinspection Facility in Texas

On October 5, 2026, Mettler Toledo will open its new X-ray Reclaim Foreign Material Reinspection Services facility in Dallas, Texas. The facility will provide foreign material reinspection, contaminant extraction, application validation, and documented reporting services for Texas-area food, beverage, ingredient, and pet food manufacturers evaluating products affected by suspected foreign material incidents.
Beginning October 5, manufacturers can ship quarantined finished goods to the Dallas facility for reinspection and contaminant extraction. The operation is designed to accommodate different product types and project sizes while providing a dedicated environment for product inspection, handling, traceability, and reporting. The Dallas team will coordinate project planning, product intake, inspection, contaminant extraction, and documentation.
Before a project begins, application testing will be conducted to assess the product, packaging, suspected contaminant, and inspection objectives. Application testing will establish detection thresholds based on product specifications, which will inform the inspection approach for the application and project objectives.
For manufacturers that need to keep quarantined products at their own facilities, Mettler Toledo will also offer regional mobile reinspection. The company said mobile teams can deploy inspection equipment and personnel to customer facilities, reducing transportation and product-handling requirements. Mobile deployments are typically available within 48 hours of application validation and project authorization, depending on project scope, location, equipment requirements, and scheduling.
X-ray Reclaim services use PXT photon-counting X-ray inspection technology to detect foreign materials including ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless-steel contaminants; glass; stone; bone; mineralized contaminants; and select low-density materials.
Mettler Toledo is accepting advance project inquiries for the Dallas facility ahead of its October 5 opening.
