SpaceGuard Introduces BeastWire Tunnel Door for High Clearance

SpaceGuard Products has introduced the BeastWire Tunnel Door, a new wire mesh access system designed for food and beverage facilities requiring high vertical clearance, above-floor operation, and efficient use of floor space.

According to the company, the BeastWire Tunnel Door is intended for use in cold storage rooms, distribution centers, production lines, packaging areas, and high-traffic material handling aisles where conventional counterbalanced or sliding gates may present operational challenges, including facilities operating in washdown, refrigerated, and high-throughput environments.

The system provides unrestricted overhead clearance by eliminating overhead tracks from the door's operating path. SpaceGuard said the design is suited for facilities using bridge cranes, high-mast forklifts, or oversized pallet loads, allowing tall equipment to pass through door openings without overhead obstructions.

The door uses a precision track system designed to provide smooth, consistent movement while reducing binding, misalignment, and other issues associated with traditional sliding or counterbalanced doors. According to SpaceGuard, the design also supports reliable engagement of the locking mechanism during operation.

Unlike bottom-track systems that require floor trenching, the BeastWire Tunnel Door operates entirely above the floor. This design helps preserve the facility slab, simplifies installation, and reduces maintenance requirements. The system is designed for both retrofit projects and new construction.

The door's compact frame and retraction design also reduce the need for lateral bracing and dedicated parking space, increasing usable floor area while maintaining the durability of the BeastWire product line.
