PLUS Cannabis Infused Gummies Tin

Design Snapshot: According to the California Department of Public Health’s Manufactured Cannabis Safety Branch, which is responsible for regulation of all commercial cannabis manufacturing in the state, all primary packaging for cannabis edibles and beverages must be child resistant beginning January 1, 2020.

Plus Products has rolled out child-resistant tins across California in advance of this January 2020 deadline. The new tins are made of recyclable tinplate steel with a polypropylene insert and are certified according to 16 CFR 1700.20 (“Testing procedure for special packaging”). The tins are opened with a press-and-twist method, similar to a prescription medicine bottle.

“The convenience of our packaging is an important part of what has made PLUS successful,” says Jake Heimark, CEO, PLUS Products. “We are proud that we were able to keep the best elements of that experience while bringing to market a new tin that is child-resistant, convenient and still completely recyclable. We believe the top cannabis brands have a responsibility to lead the industry in a safe direction. We searched the globe for the best child-resistant packaging and found it in these tins.”
