Russ Davis Wholesale, Inc., a Pueblo, Colo. establishment, is recalling approximately 956 pounds of ready-to-eat poultry products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The product contains eggs, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.  

The ready-to-eat chicken Caesar wrap items were produced on various dates from Nov. 12, 2018 through Dec. 16, 2018. The following product is subject to recall: [View Labels (PDF only)]      

  • 11.3-oz. plastic clamshell packages containing “Boar’s Head EVERROAST CHICKEN CAESAR WRAP,” with “SELL BY” dates from 11/15/18 through 12/19/18.

The product subject to recall bears establishment number “P45204B” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in New Mexico.

The problem was discovered on Dec. 17, 2018 when the company notified FSIS inspection program personnel that the incorrect ingredient statement had been used for the final product.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of this product. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.  

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators. Consumers who have purchased this product are urged not to consume them. This product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling firms are notifying their customers of the recall and that actions are being taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
