The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and state and local partners, are investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Uganda illnesses likely linked to whole, fresh papayas.
In relation to the Growers Express recall of select fresh vegetables, Trader Joe's has been alerted by our supplier of the following fresh Zucchini Spirals and Butternut Squash Spirals, sold only in the identified locations, that product with the specified date codes may have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The research found that the freshness of produce – specifically strawberries, romaine lettuce and packaged salad mixes – varied significantly from store to store as well as within each individual store.
