Interim Guidance from CDC and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The Organic Consumers Association (OCA) filed a lawsuit last week against Smithfield Foods for falsely advertising that the pork processor’s products are the “safest” U.S. pork products.   

The recommendations address shortages of personal protective equipment (PPE), cloth face coverings, disinfectants, and sanitation supplies in the food and agriculture industry in order to help maintain employee safety, continuity of the food supply, food safety, and employee/consumer confidence.

FDA believes that adjacent or nearby cattle grazing land was the most likely contributing factor associated with all three late 2019 outbreaks.

The final rule, The Sustainable, Ecological, Consistent, Uniform, Responsible, Efficient (SECURE) rule, will bring USDA’s plant biotechnology regulations into the 21st century by removing duplicative and antiquated processes in order to facilitate the development and availability of these technologies through a transparent, consistent, science-based, and risk-proportionate regulatory system.
