December 2, 2022

ASI LLC has merged into the Kiwa Group to expand Kiwa’s services of providing food, feed, and farm certifications. Together, the companies will collaboratively expand their reach and strengthen services both regionally and globally.

With ASI, Kiwa’s expertise and footprint grows, particularly in the U.S. The acquisition allows Kiwa to better provide its customers with a one-stop shop for food- and feed-related certification services on all continents. The addition will also strengthen Kiwa’s already significant presence in Latin America, given its connection to the U.S. market.

St. Louis, Missouri-based ASI has offered farm-to-fork food safety solutions since the 1940s, providing a full suite of food safety and quality services. From pre-harvest to retail, ASI offers inspections, accredited certifications, training, consulting, and standards development.

Standards covered include various global schemes recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), such as the Safe Quality Food Program (SQF), current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and current Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), complimented by custom second-party audits. ASI’s is wide portfolio of accreditations and services include BRC, IFS, FSSC, PrimusGFS, GLOBALG.A.P., Rainforest Alliance, MSC/ASC, Organic/USDA, and others.

ASI will also share industry insights with the Kiwa team to meet the evolving certification needs of emerging industries. For example, ASI’s accredited Cannabis Safety and Quality is a standard for the legalized use of Cannabis ingredients in food products in the U.S.
