SQFI Earns New GFSI Benchmarking Certification

December 19, 2014

The Safe Quality Food Institute’s (SQFI’s) Storage and Distribution of Food Product Program has earned Global Food Safety Initiative Benchmarking. This benchmarking covers the portion of SQF Code that focuses on the transportation and storage of perishable and nonperishable food and feed products.

SQFI has been working toward earning this distinction for four years. Now, stakeholders can rest assured that their food items are being transported and stored safely, having passed rigorous food safety requirements, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points.

Overall, SQF Certification helps businesses in the following areas:

Access to Information

Compliance

Global Recognition

Quality Management

Reduced Product Loss

With another certification under their belt, SQFI is continuing their goal to become the “single most trusted source for global food safety and quality certification.”
