Addium Launches Instrument for Water Activity, Moisture Content Measurement

Addium has launched the AQUALAB 5TE, a new instrument that combines water activity (aw) and moisture content measurement in a single 60-second test.
AQUALAB 5TE succeeds AQUALAB 3 and AQUALAB 4TE, consolidating their capabilities into one platform intended for research and development, production, and quality assurance applications.
According to Addium, the instrument measures water activity with an accuracy of ±0.003 aw and moisture content with an accuracy of ±0.5 percent moisture content reference.
AQUALAB 5TE also includes BlockSwap technology, which enables users to replace the instrument's calibration block rather than ship the instrument offsite for annual calibration.
Additional features include a 7-inch, glove-compatible touchscreen with integrated tutorials and multilingual support, as well as compatibility with peripherals including keyboards, barcode scanners, and printers.
AQUALAB 5TE supports electronic records and signatures and searchable audit trails for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. User access controls are mirrored across the instrument and AQUALAB Cloud.
Through integration with AQUALAB Cloud, measurement results can be automatically synchronized and associated with specific products, batches, and operators. The system also provides pass/fail alerts based on product-specific thresholds and supports offline operation, with data automatically synchronized when connectivity is restored.
