Trustwell Launches AI-Powered Documentation Tool for FoodLogiQ Compliance Platform

Trustwell has launched Playbook, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered document builder within its FoodLogiQ Compliance platform that is designed to help food safety and quality teams draft, organize, and maintain compliance documentation. Playbook is available within FoodLogiQ Compliance as an opt-in beta feature for current customers.
Playbook is intended to streamline the creation and management of documentation required for food safety programs and audits, including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), traceability plans, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), allergen control plans, supplier documentation, and other compliance records.
Trustwell said food manufacturers often rely on manual templates, spreadsheets, and dispersed files to maintain compliance documentation, creating challenges in keeping records complete, current, and aligned with changing regulatory and certification requirements.
AI-Guided Documentation and Audit Readiness
Playbook integrates AI-guided document creation directly into the FoodLogiQ Compliance workflow. The tool generates first drafts based on facility profiles, products, applicable food safety schemes, and other operational information. It also provides audit-readiness views intended to help users identify required and missing documentation.
The platform automatically calculates an audit-readiness score based on three factors:
- Coverage: The proportion of required documents that exist for a selected food safety scheme
- Completeness: Based on the number of guided questions answered and document sections completed
- Freshness: How recently documents have been updated.
Users can adjust the weighting of each factor to reflect their organization's compliance priorities, according to Trustwell.
Support for GFSI-Recognized Certification Schemes
Playbook includes guidance for several Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)-recognized certification programs, including Safe Quality Food (SQF), GLOBALG.A.P., and International Featured Standards (IFS).
After selecting the certification scheme applicable to their operation, users are guided through a series of questions designed to generate documentation aligned with the selected standard and the information auditors typically review.
