SafetyChain Expands CAPA Management with Reporting, Supplier Collaboration Capabilities

SafetyChain has announced the general availability of new capabilities for its Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) Management and Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) offerings. The release adds reporting, supplier collaboration, and workflow enhancements intended to improve visibility and traceability throughout the corrective action process.
The new features are designed to support corrective action management from initial investigation through resolution and to facilitate coordination among quality teams, production personnel, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
New CAPA Dashboard Enhances Corrective Action Visibility
SafetyChain said the release introduces a CAPA Dashboard that provides reporting tools for monitoring corrective actions throughout their lifecycle. The dashboard enables quality teams to track CAPA priorities, workflow progress, outstanding tasks, and overall program status. Filtering capabilities allow users to focus on specific records or reporting periods.
The company also expanded visibility of corrective actions by displaying linked CAPAs within the platform's standard Record View. According to SafetyChain, users reviewing production, quality, or compliance records can determine whether a corrective action is associated with a record and access its history directly.
New Features Support Supplier and External Collaboration
SafetyChain said the release includes CAPA Secure Profiles, which allow manufacturers to share corrective action information with external stakeholders through a dedicated viewer without providing full platform access. Manufacturers can control which information is shared, while auditors and other approved parties can review completed corrective actions and supporting documentation.
The release also marks the general availability of Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR). According to the company, new workflow capabilities automatically notify suppliers when corrective action tasks are assigned, while expanded resource selection enables manufacturers to create supplier corrective actions involving individual products, multiple products, or broader supplier processes.
Workflow Updates Aim to Improve Accountability
The latest release also adds more granular task assignment within CAPA Management. SafetyChain said manufacturers can assign resources when corrective actions are initiated, and those assignments are carried through subsequent workflow tasks to maintain responsibility throughout the investigation and reporting process.
CAPA Management is now generally available, including the CAPA Dashboard, CAPA Secure Profiles, linked CAPAs in Record View, and CAPA Template Task Resource Assignment. Supplier Corrective Action Requests are also generally available, including external corrective action task notifications and flexible item resource selection.
