SafetyChain Expands Data Integration Tools for Food and Beverage Manufacturers

SafetyChain has released three new integration capabilities designed to help food and beverage manufacturers connect quality, production, and operational data across existing business systems.
The new tools include a Documents API, a Record Attachments API, and Power BI Connector v3.1.0. According to the company, the additions are intended to reduce manual data handling and improve information-sharing between SafetyChain and external platforms such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, laboratory information management systems, warehouse management platforms, and reporting tools.
The Documents API enables manufacturers to provide reporting platforms, dashboards, and data warehouses with direct access to documents stored within SafetyChain, including supplier certifications, compliance records, quality questionnaires, and other files. The company said the capability can support activities such as audit preparation by automatically retrieving relevant records for specific suppliers or facilities.
The Record Attachments API allows supporting documentation from external systems to be automatically linked to corresponding quality records within SafetyChain. Potential applications include attaching label verification results, laboratory reports, production records, and supplier documentation to quality records without manual intervention.
SafetyChain also released Power BI Connector v3.1.0, which strengthens integration with Microsoft Power BI. The updated connector enables users to combine SafetyChain data with information from ERP, maintenance, warehouse, supply chain, and other business systems to support reporting and analytics activities.
As critical information often lives across multiple applications across the business, the expanded integration capabilities are intended to help manufacturers create a more connected technology environment and improve operational visibility.
All three capabilities are now available. The Documents API is included with the company’s Essential and Advanced packages, while the Record Attachments API is included with the Advanced package and available as an add-on for Essential customers. Power BI Connector v3.1.0 replaces previous versions of the connector.
