JD Manufacturing Inc. (JDM) recently partnered with Bison to optimize its automatic batch fryer. The collaboration successfully increased the fryer’s output from 500 to 600 pounds of kettle chips per hour, marking a 20 percent improvement, while enabling JDM customers to reduce fuel consumption and minimize environmental impact.
Specifically, JDM integrated Bison’s Nautilair 12.3-inch High-Energy Blower into its automatic batch fryer, JD500CXI. The blower, recognized for its industry-leading power density, played a pivotal role in helping increase the fryer’s output capacity and optimizing its energy use.
The Nautilair blower fit within the existing JD500CXI enclosure, enabling the fryer to retain its original footprint size, and the Nautilair blower was seamlessly integrated into JDM’s existing 480-volt, three-phase power setup. Additionally, the Nautilair blower is able to endure the harsh conditions of a food production environment, including exposure to moisture, oil-contaminated air, and aerosolized caustic substances.
The Nautilair's brushless DC controllers significantly enhance the fryers, providing precise control at both low and high flame levels, as well as during pilot conditions. This results in substantial financial benefits for JDM customers through reduced fuel consumption and increased efficiency, all while minimizing environmental impact.
