The domestic cantaloupe industry will experience increased food safety inspections and product sampling from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, according to a letter from the agency to the industry released on February 25.
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has announced the launch of a major initiative designed to facilitate access to data, enhancing transparency in risk assessment. The program will consider how best and to what extent technical data used in risk assessments can be made available to the broader scientific community and interested parties.
