SnapDNA has announced the introduction of TrueRapid, the first culture-independent, rapid pathogen analysis platform designed to meet or exceed every requirement established by the best molecular-based lab tests.
SnapDNA invested 6 years developing the TrueRapid technology specifically for the food industry, ultimately making TrueRapid’s debut at the 2019 Annual Meeting of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) in Louisville, KY.
The platform detects only live cells and works with standard, industry-accepted environmental samples collected from all surfaces. It provides quantitative results with a total time-to-result of 20 minutes with less than 5 minutes of hands-on time. The platform is designed to be used on-site by minimally trained personnel and without additional equipment or specialized facilities.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service (Albany, CA) presented research at IAFP 2019 showing results of their validation experiments and independent analysis of Listeria RNA detection, as part of a collaboration with SnapDNA.
“Food processors have told us what they want, and we listened. [It’s] a truly rapid, high-throughput system that works with standard samples, meets or exceeds the best molecular-based lab tests on every metric, and provides quantitative results,” says David Medin, CEO of SnapDNA. “SnapDNA’s TrueRapid analysis is the first pathogen test that delivers on all of this. A molecular test that provides on-site quantitative results in 20 minutes at the point-of-need is a game-changer.”
