Diversified Transfer & Storage (DTS), a Salt Lake City-based public refrigerated warehouse, announced a successful result in earning Safe Quality Food (SQF) Certification. SQF is administered by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmark. DTS becomes the first cold storage public food warehouse in Utah to earn SQF Level 2 Certification.
“We are pleased and proud to be able to offer a SQF Certified warehousing option to food producers and processors in the Intermountain Region”, says Randy Benish, DTS general manager. “Diversified Transfer & Storage is totally committed to Food Safety. Achieving this Certification is a means to strengthen our relationship with our customers while ensuring the safe storage and handling of our customers’ food products. Protecting the consumer is DTS’s #1 priority.”
SQF Certification is recognized worldwide as one of the food industry’s most prestigious food safety and food quality designations. To earn SQF certification, a facility must pass two thorough onsite audits in which they are evaluated based on compliance with and implementation of rigorous food safety procedures and policies.
