Earlier this month, Mars, Inc. and the University of California, Davis teamed up to launch the Innovation Institute for Food and Health as part of UC Davis’s World Food Center.

Over the next decade, the Innovation Institute will be supported with funds from Mars, Inc. ($40 million) and UC Davis ($20 million) with hopes of advancing new discoveries in sustainable food, agriculture and health.

This new venture is not the first partnership between Mars and UC Davis. Over a 40 year span, the two have joined forces on research programs related to nutrition, health, sustainable agriculture, engineering, economics and food safety.
