IFCO Launches Reusable Hybrid Pallet for North American Supply Chains

IFCO has announced the launch of Atlas, a reusable hybrid pallet designed for automated supply chains in North America.
Manufactured in the U.S., Atlas features a patented design that combines a hollow-steel deck with a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) frame. The 48-by-40-inch pallet weighs 58 pounds and features closed runners, anti-slip surfaces, rounded corners, and four-way forklift access. Its construction eliminates nails and wood splinters that can interfere with automated handling equipment.
Atlas is made with fire-retardant materials that have been tested to UL 2335, with certification pending. The pallet is also non-absorbent and resistant to water and mold.
The pallet incorporates IFCO's digital track-and-trace capabilities, which provide information on pallet location and inventory, as well as cold-chain monitoring. Atlas is available through the company's Pallet SmartCycle pooling program, which manages pallet circulation and reuse.
Designed for food and non-food applications, Atlas features replaceable components to extend its service life, and its steel and HDPE materials are recyclable.
