Stop Foodborne Illness Kicks Off STOP3000 Food Safety Education Month Fundraiser

September is National Food Safety Education Month. It is also the month in which Stop Foodborne Illness holds its annual STOP3000 fundraiser to support its work to drive food safety improvements through regulatory advocacy, culture change, and consumer support.
Individuals are invited to join Stop Foodborne Illness' STOP3000 challenge by starting a fundraising page and walking 3,000 steps a day in remembrance of the 3,000 lives lost each year to foodborne illness in the U.S.
Donations to STOP3000 will help the organization share the impactful stories of its constituent advocates who have been impacted by foodborne illnesses through food safety conferences, corporate in-services, meetings with federal agencies and congressional leaders, and food safety training videos.
The organization explained that advocates telling their personal accounts of food safety failures has not only empowered them, but has also helped move legislation like the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) over the finish line and advance food safety culture industrywide.
The fundraiser page for the sixth annual STOP3000 campaign can be found here. Donations toward STOP3000 can also be made by scanning the QR code below:
