Torrey Pines Introduces EchoTherm Shaking, Chilling, Heating Dry Baths for Samples

Torrey Pines Scientific Inc. has announced its new EchoTherm SC20 and SC25 shaking, chilling, and heating dry baths for use with biological and other samples.
Both models have a temperature range of -20 °C to 100 °C and incorporate a variable-speed orbital shaker, enabling simultaneous sample mixing and temperature control. The units are Peltier-driven, provide temperature control to 1 °C, and have a shaking range of 200–1,000 revolutions per minute (rpm).
The SC20 is a digital unit, while the programmable SC25 includes a five-program memory. Both models feature a 30-day countdown timer with an alarm and automatic shutoff, a data logger, an RS232 I/O port, and a backlit two-line alphanumeric display.
The SC20XT and SC25XT accommodate accessory sample blocks for 0.2-, 0.5-, 1.5-, 15-, and 50-milliliter (mL) centrifuge tubes. Blocks are also available for 2-mL vials, 20-mL scintillation vials, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tubes and plates, 96-well and 384-well assay plates, deep-well assay plates, and various test tube sizes. Torrey Pines Scientific also offers custom blocks for sample vessels and application-specific layouts.
The instruments can be used for temperature/time profiles, unattended restriction digestions or ligations, automated enzyme reactions and deactivations, and sample storage.
Both units include instructions and a universal benchtop power supply. The company stated that the instruments are ETL-, CSA-, and CE-compliant.
