IFT to Host ‘Talking Science’ Webinar Series

The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) is hosting a four-part webinar series, titled, Talking Science, moderated by IFT Chief Science and Technology Officer, Brendan Niemira, Ph.D., discussing the science behind emerging food technologies and innovations.
Talking Science will offer a science-focused preview of sessions from the upcoming IFT FIRST Annual Event and Expo, taking place July 12–15 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.
Each webinar will tackle a key challenge or issue impacting the global food and health community:
- “Science Meets Circularity: Ingredients, Packaging, and the New Rules of Sustainability” will discuss how food science is reshaping sustainability—from upcycled ingredients to advances in packaging and lifecycle thinking
- “What’s New in Plant Protein?” will take a closer look at the science driving texture, nutrition, functionality, and consumer acceptance in next-generation plant-based foods
- “Next-Generation Processing: Nonthermal Technologies Shaping Food Safety and Quality” will explore emerging processing technologies that promise to enhance food safety while maintaining quality, nutrition, and shelf life
- “Hot Concepts in Food Science” will take a rapid-fire look at the scientific breakthroughs poised to define the future of the food system.
