SafetyChain Unveils Updates to Digital Plant Management Platform

SafetyChain has released new functionality aimed at improving information flow, visibility, and coordination across frontline food safety and quality operations. The April 2026 update includes enhancements to workflow continuity, statistical process control (SPC) visualization, system compatibility, and data reporting.
Workflow Context Carryover Across Tasks
SafetyChain expanded its workflow capabilities with a feature that carries attachments and contextual information across tasks. When a user documents an issue and attaches supporting evidence, that information is automatically transferred to all subsequent tasks triggered by the event.
According to the company, this functionality allows downstream teams to access the same documentation without re-entering information or searching across systems. The intent is to reduce errors and improve continuity during corrective actions.
Updated SPC Views for Frontline Operators
The release also extends Statistical Process Control (SPC) functionality to mobile formats. Administrators can configure charts to display role-specific performance indicators, including customized specification limits and visual elements.
SafetyChain stated that simplifying SPC views for operators enables earlier identification of process deviations, while supervisors and continuous improvement teams retain access to more detailed analytical tools.
Compatibility With Ignition 8.3 Platform
The update includes a module compatible with Ignition 8.3, the latest version of Inductive Automation’s industrial application platform, released in September 2025. Ignition 8.3 includes changes related to data processing, scalability, and security.
SafetyChain reported that compatibility with the updated platform supports improved data exchange, expanded equipment connectivity, and real-time visibility across production environments as manufacturers modernize operational technology systems.

Power BI Connector Rebuilt for Scalable Reporting
SafetyChain also introduced a redesigned Power BI Connector, built on a new framework intended to improve performance, scalability, and reliability in data reporting.
The company stated that the update improves how record-level data is retrieved, supporting larger datasets and more consistent reporting. Users transitioning from the previous version must rebuild existing queries. SafetyChain described the update as establishing a foundation for future reporting enhancements.
Mobile Access Across Features
All new capabilities are available on mobile devices, allowing frontline personnel to access workflows, process data, and system integrations directly on the production floor.
The updated features are available to customers as of April 2026.
