Poultry Industry Launches Pre-Competitive Food Safety Forum

The Poultry Industry Food Safety Council (PIFSCo) is a new collaborative initiative dedicated to advancing food safety practices across the poultry industry.
Taking an all-of-industry approach, PIFSCo will represent the breeder, broiler, duck, layer, and turkey sectors to identify research priorities, share practical solutions, and promote continuous improvement in food safety practices.
By fostering collaboration among producers, genetics companies, allied businesses, government agencies, and research institutions, PIFSCo will develop guidelines that support effective food safety plans across the industry.
Members of PIFSCo include the Meat Institute, the American Egg Board, the Duck Council, the National Chicken Council, the National Turkey Federation, United Egg Producers, the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association, and more than 50 poultry companies and allied industry partners. The council's efforts complement the work of member organizations.
